The Gates Are Opening!

 The historic Reel Mine, located within the Wisteria Amethyst Reserve in Iron Station, North Carolina is entering a new chapter.

​

For the first time in nearly a decade, limited areas of the property will be opened to the public as restoration efforts continue under its new name:

• This isn’t a salted mine.

• This isn’t a bucket line.
   

This is a real amethyst mine with a long history of producing beautiful North Carolina Amethyst, Quartz and Smokey Quartz mineral specimens.

For years, the property remained closed behind locked gates and no trespassing signs. Nature reclaimed the trails, the dig areas became overgrown, and access to the property all but disappeared.

Now, for a limited time, you have the opportunity to become one of the first visitors welcomed back onto the property as the Reel Mine begins its restoration and reopening.
